Going on Vacation

Yes, the time as come for me to drive home and see my parents for a week.
It has been too long since I have seen them - over a year. I can't wait!
I told my mom that I want to do at least three things with her:
1. Go for a walk
2. Do a sewing project together (maybe a dress)
3. Teach me how to knit.
I will be away making memories for a least a week. I will miss you peeps!
I'll try to pop in and say, "HI!"

Step 1: Getting the Goods -gathering supplies

Step 2: Stitching up a Storm -- sewing the pillowcases

Step 3: Firm Foundation -- prepare edges for crocheting

Week 4: On the Edge--crocheting the scallop pattern

Are you ready to crochet along with Cassie and her On The Edge tutorial?

Getting Started

Do you remember my blog post about doing a scrapbook about marriage advice/truths?
Well this past weekend, I was in Hobby Lobby (pure sweetness) and I found this great little 8x8 scrapbook by S.E.I. I love that is prepackaged so I don't have to spend extra time finding the right papers and embellishments. It is all right there. It also has a layout idea for each page. But I don't want to do that, I want to branch out.
I am really excited to get started!
So my question to you guys and gals . . . in one sentence can you give me some marriage advice/truth?

Recycled - Upcycled Sweaters

Okay, I know this whole thing about upcycling sweaters and using the yarn for another project has been around for a while, but I just came across it last night. It is brilliant! Yarn is so expense especially good quality yarn.

I found a couple of tutorials that explain the whole process better. Craftstylish and Craftzine

Holy cows, are you as excited I am!? I will never look at a thrift store the same again. Think about all the over/undersized sweaters that won't come close to fitting you but the yarn is fabulous. Think about all the ugly sweaters that are made out of wool or cashmere. How about your own closet? Or does your someone in your family have a sweater that is ugly or doesn't fit anyone? And think about garage sales too!

I can't wait until Monday when the Salvation Army here in town has all their clothes 50% off! Yikes! I might be going a little crazy!

New Treasury

I just created a new treasury called: Lets Go Camping
I loved to go camping when I was a little girl.
My parents converted an old bus into a camper.
I loved making s'mores, fishing on one of the many 10,000 lakes in MN, and most of all spending time with my family and grandparents.
There were also times when we would pitch a tent in the backyard for those weekdays that we had to stay home.
Lots of fun and lots of memories.
Thanks Mom and Dad!
