A few old scrapbook layouts

Here are a few scrapbook layouts that I did a while back. I still haven't created anymore since my previous scrapbooking post which was in February. I also got an email from York Photo last week saying that my account was going to be deleted if I don't order any pictures soon since my account has been inactive for 365 days. YIKES. I have been sloughing. I really do miss scrapbooking but something else always seems to take priority.

10 Questions

Rachel Denbow (she is one of my favorite bloggers) posted 10 questions the other day. Since I have a little bit of time on my hands, I decided to play along.
1. When do you feel the happiest?
I am my happiest when Art is home and we are working on our own projects at the same time. He is working on his writing and I am working on my crafting. (We share the same workroom) I love to take a moment and look up at him while he is so deep in thought. I love knowing that we are together and both doing something we both love at the same time.

2. How do you take care of yourself?
I take care of myself by giving myself Renee Time. No matter how much I have on my plate, I allow myself to watch TV, play on the Internet, hang out with friends, or create something.

Art is good about it too. He is always telling me to relax and to have fun.
3. Are you internally (by yourself) or externally (by others) motivated?

Definitely, externally motivated. One of my favorite pastimes is surfing the internet for ideas. If I see something I like, I save it in my "ideas folder" which is divided into subcategories like crochet, embroidery, scrapbooking, etc.

4. What do you do for fun?

For fun I spend time with Art and my friends. It is always good to get out of the house since I am a homebody most the week. I do like my cave but fresh air and people are nice too. If I am dwelling in my cave, love to spend time finding ideas and carrying them out.
5. What intimidates you?
This question is a hard one. I am really not intimidated by anything. However, I do worry about not being the best person I can be. At the end of days, I want to be able to look back and say I made a difference.

6. What is something you're proud of?

My life. I am so proud of the life I made for myself. I have never been happier, never ever. I honestly live in total bliss. I have came a long way internally and externally. I have climbed some really high mountains but I have grown and learned from my experiences and I love who I am as a person and the life I have made for myself.
7. Finish this sentence. I never ________________.

Well, I can take this two ways:

I never been over outside of United States (excluding Canada my parent's house is two miles from the Canadian border in MN).

I never give up. I am always try to push myself. I never stop believing in what I can accomplish.

8. Favorite vacation spot.

I wish I had money to go on vacations. But, my favorite vacation spot is MN to see my family. I only get to see them a few times a year so those times are so precious to me.

9. Today is a (rate from 1 -10)

T-E-N! Fridays are my favorite day of the week. I love knowing the weekend is almost here and the week is just about over = perfect combination.

10. Finish this sentence. If you knew me really well you'd know ______________.

You would know that I am extremely emotional and sensitive. I take things ways too personal and have a tender heart. I cry very easily but that also means happy tears too.

New Challenge

I bought this book One Month to Live: 30 days to a No-Regrets Life by Kerry and Chris Shook a few months back. I finally took it off my bookshelf and am ready to take on the Challenge. After reading the first chapter, I knew I had to share it with you all. It will be life changing. So, I am asking if you all would like to take on the challenge with me? My goal is to have it completed by June 1st. I know that I life happens and to do this everyday may not be possible. Plus, I thought that way you all could have a chance to go out and purchase the book too. What do you think?

If you only had month month to live, what would you do differently? How would it affect you? How would you make make your days meaningful? Do you have any regrets that need to be settled?

Let's do this together! Are you in? Or, maybe you have already done it. If so, please share your experience and story.

Easter Photoshot

Sorry, that I have been away but the flu bug has taken me out. Today I am feeling a little bit better but still exhausted. So, while I still have a little bit of energy left in me, I wanted to post a few pictures that I took of my friends and their little boy on Easter.

Yes, that is a chicken nugget! This little guy loves his food.

Beautiful Packaging

I have been wanting to do this post for a while, but I have been crazy busy. Today, I made time. I love this idea by Mandi on Elsie Flannigans's Blog: A Recycled Kraft Package. Mandi gives us a tutorial of how to turn a regular paper sack into a beautiful mailing envelope. I love it. I love it. I love it. It is free and a great way to customize your packages. I used to just slap a sticker on the outside of a store bought envelope. But, now I think these babies might just be my new signature. . . time allowing. But, lets not stop there . . . .

Now, let's look at Geninne's way to decorate this brown packages. She uses hand carved stamps to really personalize her envelopes. Talk about inspiring! She even provides a few tutorials of how to make one for yourself.

Geninne's New Trio Post

Geninne also make these doily stamps. This was hook, line, and sinker for me. I need to go to Hobby Lobby to get myself all the supplies that I need. But, Hobby Lobby is an hour away :(
Geninne's Doily Post
For more of Geninne's hand carved stamps check out her flickr collection.

Now, if you really have time on your hands and love to paint look at Pamgarrison's Brown Paper Package Post using brown paper and calligraphic inks.
Now, we must remember to ask for paper instead of plastic the next time we are out shopping. And to start thinking and sketching ideas to personalize your mailing packages. I can't wait to see all your guys ideas!

Paint By Numbers

Today I discovered this You Are Here rug by Anthropologie. Holy cows, is it ever inspiring. It even lead me on a trip to Walmart to purchase my own paint by numbers painting. I found a lighthouse one on clearance for $4. Score.
I thought to myself, "Self, you can make that with your own painting and your own quote."

I am pretty excited. Since it is a lighthouse theme, I might add a quote on relaxation, tranquility, the simple things in life, or life's direction. No rush in deciding because it will take a while to paint it. I mean a while.

How can you eat an orange?

The other day I was craving an orange, but I soon realized each of them had a little letter on them. So, I put them together to find a message that said . . .
How can you eat an orange that is part of a sweet love note?
So, you ask, "What did you do?" I took out my camera, snapped a picture, and put them back into the bowl. However, since then two of them are gone :(

Happy Easter!

All I need to know
I learned from the Easter Bunny!

Don't put all your eggs in one basket.

Everyone needs a friend who is all ears.

There's no such thing as too much candy.

All work and no play can make you a basket case.

A cute tail attracts a lot of attention.

Everyone is entitled to a bad hare day.

Let happy thoughts multiply like rabbits.

Some body parts should be floppy.

Keep your paws off of other people's jelly beans.

Good things come in small, sugar coated packages.

The grass is always greener in someone else's basket.

To show your true colors, you have to come out of the shell.

The best things in life are still sweet and gooey.
