Valentine's Day Gift to Art

This gift was the product of Dear Lizzy's online class this past fall called the Mysteries of Me. However, it is hard to think about just me without thinking about Art - since he is my other half. :D I used a vintage book I found at the Salvation Army called Love is Eternal by Irving Stone. I was so happy when I found this book, it was like it was meant to be. I am really happy how it turned out and Art loved his gift too.

It's Back. . .

One of my Valentine's Day gifts was to get my scrapbook room back AND IT IS HERE! We worked all day yesterday rearranging the apartment including our bedroom. It is even more spacious than what we had before. I had to give the space up to a dear friend but he moved out this semester. So, this weekend was time to reclaim our space. It is almost overwhelming because I don't know where to start. Plus, I haven't scrapbooked for over a year. Craziness I know! So be prepared for new projects to be posted.
Jumping in our new spacious, rearranged bedroom!

Happy Valentine's Day

It is here! Love Day is here! However, the best thing is that Art and I celebrate our love everyday. Today just makes it a little extra special. I will post later his Valentine's gift. But for now . . .

Birthday Rewind

This birthday will be one to remember. My day started with lunch date with my girlfriend, Jessica, who I adore. Later Friday evening, I got a home cooked meal full of tons of veggies, a homemade card, a movie date, and we 'Walked for Women' on Saturday. It was so neat to be part of something so touching and donate my time to such a heartfelt cause. I also got a few love-birthday poems written by my love. Here is one that I will share. . . Doesn't it make you melt?!
February Forever

It’s funny how just one little day
Can so define us on our way
Through life together you and I
I often stop to wonder why
I got so lucky after all these years
Of times alone so filled with fears
But then, I shrug and feel blessed
Since I somehow passed time’s stern test
And the prize I won now fills my soul
I once was part and now am whole
Thank you, dear, you’re my present
And my future bright and pleasant
My life came true because of you
On the fifth of February, ‘82
THANK YOU
~ADV, 1982
Here are some pictures from Saturday. I never even thought to take out the camera on Friday.

If you want to read more about my day in a more professional sort of way. . . Check out Art's Examiner article.

Drawing I - Still Life - Day 1

I am currently taking Drawing I at the University of Wyoming and I love every second of it. We received our first take home assignment which is based on line. The hardest part was trying to decide what to draw. After a little thinking, I came up with the theme, "Boy meets Girl." It represents my life and not some random bottles and bowls that some other students are drawing. I selected one of his shoes and one of my shoes, our sunglasses, and our ititials that are made out of metal. Here is the picture of my still life. . . My charcoal drawing Day 1 (there is so much I need to do, but I have a great start) . . . and Art's pencil drawing (his is on a smaller scale). We were sitting side-by-side drawing away. It was so much fun! I will keep you updated as my drawing progresses.
